Cato was managing editor for the Fox Magazine show Personalities, hosted by Charlie Rose. She also served as managing editor for KCBS TV News, Los Angeles. She was News Director and Executive Producer for NBC Radio Network and produced coverage for both the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo, Yugoslavia and the Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, California.
